Nutrilite Power of 5 Overview
In 2014, Amway launched the Nutrilite Power of 5 campaign. The campaign focused on three key elements:
- Highlighting the critical first five years of life and how malnutrition impacts children,
- Highlighting Amway and Nutrilite role in addressing this issue with Little Bits and five key partnerships, and
- Inviting individuals to join us in fighting the issue of childhood malnutrition.
Nutrilite Little Bits
Nutrilite Little Bits is the first micronutrient supplement in powder form for malnutrition enhanced with plant nutrients. The formula is based on the World Health Organization’s (WHO) guidance for micronutrient powders designed to help address malnutrition in the first 5 years of life. Little Bits has 15 essential vitamins and minerals. Through clinical studies, Little Bits has helped reduce iron-deficiency anemia by 93% and stunting by 40%. Stunting is the global measure chronic malnutrition used by the WHO and global health community and refers to a child being too small (height and weight) for his or her age.
Power of 5 Leadership Circle
Introduced at the Founder’s Council Meeting in 2015, the Power of 5 Leadership Circle is an exclusive partnership opportunity between Amway Founder’s Council members and Amway Corporation to help fight childhood malnutrition around the world. Leadership Ship members are asked to promote the Power of 5 at one of their events throughout the year. All FC members that sign up for the Leadership Circle will receive a customizable toolkit with videos, images and communication assets to support their efforts to promote the Power of 5. There is no fundraising requirement associated with the Leadership Circle though some members have chosen to raise funds to the support the Power of 5.
Power of 5 Fundraising
All monies raised to support the Power of 5 go directly to CARE. CARE is our global Nongovernmental Organization (NGO) partner who helps distribute Little Bits to implementing organizations and families with malnourished children.
Power of 5 in the Philippines
In the Philippines, Power of 5 is realized through feeding programs and medical missions in select public schools, in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd).
