About Amway

Stay up to date with Amway on the COVID-19 pandemic. #AlwaysOnGuard

The Philippines recorded its first case of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on January 30, 2020, of a 38-year-old Chinese woman confined in a hospital in Manila. The number of cases have since gone up: as of 4, May 2020, there have been 7,547 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with 623 deaths and 1,315 recoveries.
According to the World Health Organization, Coronaviruses are large family of viruses that cause illness from the common cold to more severe diseases like MERS-CoV and SARS-CoV. COVID-19 is a new strain that was discovered recently, which was previously unidentified in humans.
As of March 16, the entirety of Mainland Luzon has been placed under an enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) by President Rodrigo Duterte as part of the government’s response in containing the COVID-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, Visayas and Mindanao remain under general community quarantine, where the movement of people are limited to accessing basic necessities and work, and uniformed personal and quarantine officers are present at border points.

  • All health workers and medical practitioners, both private and public, shall remain available at all times. Most of the country’s corporate workforces are subject to Work From Home (WFH).

  • Checkpoints shall be set in contaminated cities/areas, and the assigned authorities shall conduct standard inspection procedures but with unimpeded movement thereafter throughout the area.

  • Delivery services, whether in-house or outsourced are allowed to operate such as food, medicine, utilities, etc., as long as they are basic necessities.

Here are the 7 standard guidelines to follow, serving as the best preventive measures against COVID-19:

  • Always wash your hands with soap for at least 30 seconds. Make sure all parts of your hands are clean and have them dry afterwards. If you don’t have access to water and soap, sanitize by using at least 70% medical alcohol after you wash your hands.

  • Maintain social distancing by putting a distance of at least 3 feet or 1 meter between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing. When someone coughs or sneezes, they spray small liquid droplets which may contain virus. You breathe in these droplets, including the COVID-19 virus, if you are too close.

  • Avoid touching your face with your hands. One of the simplest ways the COVID-19 infects other hosts is through fluid transmission through one’s eyes, nose, and mouth. Try to use a clean towel at times to alleviate the urge to touch or scratch.

  • Avoid close contact with people, especially ones suffering from respiratory infections and those displaying symptoms of COVID-19. This means you should avoid crowded areas and mass gatherings. The risk of infection can spread faster if hosts are just within close distances from each other.

  • Monitor yourself if you feel unwell. If you have fever, cough, and have trouble breathing, please seek immediate medical attention.

  • Use the period of the overall community quarantine to a lot time to get back or continue eating the right food for sustenance and strengthening the immune system. This should include both a healthy balance of consuming meat and vegetables. Take vitamins to strengthen and supplement the effects of proper eating, and exercise.

  • Keep your surroundings clean by using disinfectants, properly wiping all surfaces, and by using the right products that can do the job.

  • Respiratory problems, including shortness or breath and difficulty breathing
  • Fever

  • Cough and colds

No Amway product can prevent the contraction or spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus). Because the virus is spread person-to-person, no product – whether produced by Amway or by another company - can prevent the transmission of the virus from one person to the next. We realize ABOs and their customers are concerned about the pandemic and looking for ways to protect themselves, but we want to be clear that no product can claim to prevent the spread or contraction of the virus.
